The project CATARSI (Comprensione Automatica di Testi e ARticoli nelle scienze Sociali e Informatiche – automatic understanding of texts and articles in social sciences and computer sciences) aims at tackling the interface between social sciences and information science and improving both the knowledge and the development of computer based techniques for analyzing texts and extract meanings.
The issue tackled by CATARSI is cultural and practical, and its results will impact both on information science, which deals more with ontological aspects, and on social sciences, that can use new instruments to improve the way knowledge is analyzed and created.
CATARSI is a project funded the University of Bologna under the funding 'sheme ALMA IDEA linea giovani'.

Il progetto CATARSI (Comprensione Automatica di Testi e articoli nelle Scienze Sociali e Informatiche) mira ad affrontare l'interfaccia tra scienze sociali e scienze dell'informazione e a migliorare sia la conoscenza che lo sviluppo di tecniche informatiche per l'analisi di testi e l'estrazione dei significati.
Il tema affrontato da CATARSI è culturale e pratico e i suoi risultati mirano ad un impatto sia sulla scienza dell'informazione, che si occupa più di aspetti ontologici, sia sulle scienze sociali, le quali possono contare su nuovi strumenti per migliorare il modo in cui la conoscenza viene analizzata e creata.
CATARSI è un progetto finanziato dall'Università di Bologna nell'ambito del finanziamento 'sheme ALMA IDEA linea giovani'.
