In 2015, the former “Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities (ACDH)” of the Austrian Academy of Sciences was installed as a research institute with the declared intention of fostering the humanities by applying digital methods and tools to a wide range of academic fields. In late 2019, the institute underwent a major restructuring, which resulted in three main areas: Infrastructure and Services, Digital Humanities Research and Cultural Heritage Research.

Nel 2015, l'ex "Centro Austriaco per le Scienze Digitali (ACDH)" facente capo all'Accademia Austriaca delle Scienze è stato creato come istituto di ricerca con l'intenzione dichiarata di promuovere le scienze umane applicando metodi e strumenti digitali a una vasta gamma di campi accademici. Alla fine del 2019, l'istituto ha subito una profonda ristrutturazione, che ha portato innovazione a tre aree principali: infrastrutture e servizi, ricerca nelle scienze umane digitali e ricerca del patrimonio culturale.
